This car was purchased from Richard D'Antonio in San Antonio, Texas on April 20, 1985. We did a frame off restoration on the car and sold it to Robert Perkins of Dallas, Texas October 30, 1989. The car was originally gold. The body was in very good condition but had a few small dings here and there. We stripped the car to bare metal and repainted it red.

Besides rebuilding the engine, the carburetor, power steering pump, alternator, starter, and positraction were all rebuilt.

New parts included: a.c. drier, a.c. compressor, thermostat housing, temperature sending unit, oil pressure sending unit, battery, battery cables, rearl coil springs, shocks, belts and hoses, radiator, radiator cap, heater core, spark plugs, plug wires, starter solenoid, water pump, fuel pump, steel fuel lines, exhaust system complete, fan clutch, u-joints, pinion seal, idler arm, rubber bumper fillers, brake and clutch pedal pads, accelerator pedal, windshield, window felts, roof rail weatherstrips, door weatherstrips, package tray, seat covers, headliner, carpet, quarter window weatherstrips, trunk weatherstrip, trunk mat, hood insulation, door sill plates and a set of 5 new Michelin radials. The radio was repaired and a new speaker installed. The front and rear bumpers were rechromed and new chrome bumper bolts installed.

A friend of Richard from Amarillo helped us with the paint and body work. He taught me quite a few skills and especially sanding techniques to make the body flawless before final paint.

Introduced as a single model in 1966, the Cutlass Supreme was introduced as a new series in 1967. The Supreme was the only series in which the popular 4-4-2 could be ordered in 1967. There were 8,928 Cutlass Supreme hardtops produced with the optional automatic transmission.

The 4-4-2 package included a special 350 h.p. 400 c.i. V-8 engine, F-70x14 tires, heavy-duty suspension components, special 4-4-2 emblems and dual exhausts with stainless exhaust tips. The best horsepower-to-weight ratio was found on the 3,452 pound sports coupe at 9.86 pounds her h.p.

Standard features included: 4-4-2 grille, 4-4-2 emblems (trunk and front fenders), 4-4-2 louvered hood, painted stripes on fenders that ended just past the front doors, 4-4-2 Rocket V-8 engine, heavy-duty front and rear shocks, heavy-duty front and rear springs, heavy-duty front and rear stabilizer bars, heavy-duty radiator, heavy-duty propellor shaft, heavy-duty front engine mounts, heavy-duty battery, dual exhausts, heavy-duty wheels.
